It’s payback time ... Lixnaw company set for UK market
By Marisa Reidy
LIXNAW-BASED software development and support company, Payback Payroll,
is to expand its operations to the UK this summer, creating a number of
new jobs in the process.
The company - whose packages have been in widespread use throughout
ireland for over 25 years - will start exporting a new version of its
payroll software to parts of the United Kingdom this May. This significant
expansion has already resulted in Payback payroll taking on extra staff
here to cope with the anticipated increase in sales.
News of the Kerry company’s expansion to the UK comes just days after
Payback Payroll received an award at the Genesis Enterprise Awards for
best market entry success.
At the award ceremony, Michael Cotter of AIB said that in light of recent
concerns about job losses in the knowledge industry sector in Kerry and
Cork, the success of a home-grown business idea is very encouraging.
”It is clear from the outstanding quality of the entrants into the programme
this year that Cork and Kerry have a thriving and growing entrepreneurial
spirit,” he said.
Since its foundation 25 years ago, the company’s list of customers has
grown to include Microsoft, Tesco, AIB, Bank of Ireland and Banque Nationale
de Paris.
